Asclepias curassavica, "Silky Gold". Half-hardy perennial; frost tender; height to 3 feet, has small bright yellow flowers. Requires good drainage, amended soil, moderate to low water. Perennial in California. Gets scraggly in winter. Grows best in full sun, but tolerates light shade. Cut by one third in December to mimic native species. AVAILABLE ---- LIMITED QUANTITY silky gold
Asclepias curassavica, "Red Butterfly". Half-hardy perennial; flowers red and orange; frost tender; height to 3 feet, often called Mexican milkweed, or Bloodflower, or tropical milkweed. Requires good drainage, moderate water. Perennial in California. Grows well in full sun and tolerates light shade. Cut back grown plants in early Dec. by one third to mimic native species. Asclepias physocarpa, "Blow Fish Tree". Hardy perennial, requires good drainage, moderate to low water. Requires strong staking to support weak trunk system. Plant individually or in rows every 6 ft. Asclepias speciosa, "Showy Milkweed". A hardy perennial, a California native, that requires little care once established. Adapts to most soils. Drought tolerant, small orchid-like flowers. Goes dormant in Fall. Watch for shoots in mid April. Withstands extreme winter conditions. AVAILABLE ---- LIMITED QUANTITY speciosa

The alternative is TO ORDER MILKWEED SEEDS. The seed packets can be purchased for $3.00 per packet from us directly. (7.5 % sales taxes and shipping included). No online payments. Fill out form with check and we will get them to you as soon as possible. Seed packets normally contain between 40 and 50 seeds.
Seeds can also be purchased directly, in person, from Natural Bridges State Park in Santa Cruz, Ca, and Pismo State Monarch Grove in Pismo, CA Or Best practice is to call them directly for exact cost and availiability of seeds.

If you are anywhere near these locales, we encourage you to buy seeds, from them directly as we sell the seed packets to them wholesale. The parks make a profit, which they in turn use to help their non-profit agencies. Meanwhile, you can enjoy these locations while contributing to the preservation of the monarch butterfly. If you are not anywhere near them, please let us know, and we will provide you with the seeds at $3.00. Thanks for supporting us and ensuring the survival of the Monarch butterfly.
